Activities consist of capacity building and other events.
The objective of capacity building is to improve the skills of students, staff and management of cooperative organizations (partners).
In 2006 and 2007 VDMS organized:
- A brainstorm session on 'Innovative Ways to Teach and Learn English in Indonesia'.
- A workshop on project management for project managers of cooperative organizations.
- Two ‘leadership conferences’ for students receiving scholarships from VDMS.
- A workshop for staff of technical schools to learn about (financial) management and to exchange know-how.
- A workshop for principals and staff of schools on financial management and administration of schools.
- Training of teachers in interactive teaching.
- A workshop for staff of two agricultural schools to learn 'how to start a business'.
In 2008 we organized:
- Two workshops to introduce our new internet scholarship administration system (SAS)
- Two 'leadership conferences' in Prigen and Kupang
- Training of teachers in interactive teaching.
- A workshop for alumni of VDMS to learn 'how to start a business'.
- A 'train the trainers' program for lecturers of universities
- Regional meetings for VDMS scholars in Padang and Jogyakarta
- A workshop for representatives of new partners to introduce the SAS
- Two 'leadership conferences' in Puntondo and Tlogo
- A workshop for alumni of VDMS to learn 'how to start a business'
- A meeting of representatives of partners
- A kick off meeting for an Alumni Association
- A Regional meeting for VDMS scholars in Surabaya
